resilience
"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls a butterfly."- Richard Bach
If there is one thing I am amazed about the Aussies, it is their resilient spirit. Despite the tragedies of the last weeks (with floods in the north and bushfires in the south), this nation has stood united, and the outpouring of support and donation is just unbelievable. Even the flood victims have declined the donations originally collected for them, and instead, have requested that they be sent to the victims of the bushfires, because they reason that, at least, they still have their homes, while the others have lost not just their homes, but their loved ones as well. And even the ones who escaped the fires have said, they are not victims, they are survivors. Amazing indeed the human spirit...to show resilience in the midst of grief and utter loss.
If there is one thing I am proud of, it is to be a part of this beautiful nation (but i am also proud to be pinoy...because, i think we, as a people are as resilient as the caterpillar... coming out of its cocoon to spread its butterfly wings).

Beautiful photos here Keth! They're simply stunning!
Hope you and your family are OK and that you are not close to the tragedy-stricken areas. I pray for all the victims of the flood and fire.
these are amazing pictures, keth. the colours are very sharp. did you have to edit these photos? my shots don't appear to be as beautiful mao i don't have the confidence to post them yet. and how did you make them so big? you're becoming a pro, so i'm trying to pick up some tips from you now. hope you don't mind. =>
thank you liz. coming from somebody whose shots i really admire, that means a lot.
yes, we're ok. thank God,we're far from both the fires and floods. very extreme ang nature sa calamities.
hi charm. as we talked about on facebook, i use picasa if i'm not very happy with the color saturation and sharpness. photoshop is not in my cards yet. with picasa,it's simple editing, but mostly, when you learn to experiment with your cam, you start getting better quality shots. i am too far away from the real thing. start your blog with blogger. i'll show you exactly how to make your photos bigger, just like what jopie instructed me.i have discovered a shortcut on how to do mine, but if that doesn't work for you, i'm sure i still have jopie's original msgs. let me know. c'mon. don't be shy, start photo-blogging.
what a nice entry keth.
let's just keep praying everyone will recover from the tragedy.
getting better and better in your photos keth --- no more of the auto shots?
hi cinds, thank you. you're right, pray lang jud ta.
i still use auto settings, but i experiment more now that i understand some of the photography lingo and my camera features a little bit more...but di pa jud ko ka level ninyo.
love these photos, keth! beautiful!
