doors

i've always been fascinated with doors. just something about them. they tell a story on their own. they've welcomed many a guest. witnessed too many goodbyes. opened for great opportunities and closed for failed relationships or lost chances. and yet, they remain...standing...while we keep coming and going.

"If opportunity doesn't knock...build a door." -Milton Berle

"The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live."- Flora Whittemore

"There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception."- Aldous Huxley

"Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you, where there were only walls."- Joseph Campbell

(my little erin just had to be in the picture. she wanted a shot with this door. perhaps, she shares my love for doors)

keth, i love love love your door idea. so cool! i'm like, "why didn't i think of that?" and that's because i'm not half as discerning as you.

all the doors you featured here are beautiful, but my favorite is the first one.

i also love joseph campbell's quote. i have yet to find my bliss though. ;-)

The Blogger

i love the beach. i talk a lot. i love to write. i don't necessarily make sense though. i take lots of photographs. i'm not good, but i love it. it gives me a sense of joy capturing moments that otherwise would just have slipped by. i sing, much to my family's chagrin. i love scrapbooking, but don't have the time. as a child, i chased after dragonflies, climbed mango trees and even coconut trees, and fell in love with the fireflies in my lola's hometown of bohol. i love cebu. it will always be home. i adore my beautiful kids. i am married to my bestfriend. and i am so blessed with their love.
